Custom Baybayin Shirts: Wear Your Name on a Tee, Crewneck or Hoodie
Updated: 2 days ago
Baybayin looks best when it means something to you. Your name, your family's surname, your lola's nickname, the town your parents came from. That is exactly what our custom Baybayin pieces are for: you pick the words, we print them in the pre-colonial Tagalog script on a tee, crewneck or hoodie made just for you.
Here is how it works, what to put on it, and how to make sure the spelling is right before you order.

Get the spelling right
Baybayin is written by sound, not by English spelling, so a few things are worth checking before you print something you will wear for years:
Write it the way it sounds in Tagalog. Michael becomes something closer to Ma-y-kel. Our Baybayin chart shows all 17 characters.
Watch the kudlit. The small mark above a character makes it an e or i sound, below makes it o or u. Without one, it reads with an a.
Names that end in a consonant use the virama, a small cross or line that cancels the vowel. Our virama guide explains it.
For tattoos or anything permanent, ask a Baybayin teacher to double-check. For a shirt, the translator gets you there.
Why wear your name in Baybayin
Baybayin was used across the Philippine islands long before Spanish colonization, then nearly disappeared. Wearing it is a small, visible way to keep it alive. And it starts conversations. Someone will ask what it says, and you get to tell them it is your name, written the way our ancestors wrote.
